BRYAN STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS—THURSDAY, JANUARY 18, 2018

**Online registration for the 2018-19 school year runs through January 25.  Bryan’s Open Lab and Academic Night is TONIGHT from 5:00-6:45.  Current 6th and 7th graders and parents can get help registering for classes for next year in the 520 computer lab.  At 5:30, current 7th graders and parents can attend a presentation in the auditorium focusing on 8th grade AP/Challenge classes and foreign language.  Information will be shared about the curriculum, requirements to earn high school credit for these classes, expectations for attendance, homework, etc. 

**Sign Language Club will meet today after school until 4:15 in room 302.  

**Homework Club will meet today after school until 5:15 in the Learning Commons.  If you have a permission slip to turn in, please bring it to the office during 1st hour.    

**8th graders who will attend Howell Central, they will offer assistance with online registration in the FHC Learning Commons tonight from 5:00-7:30.  

**The 8th grade girls’ book club meets tomorrow morning at 7:30. All 8th grade girls are welcome!

**Tryouts for the spring play “The Bully Plays” have been rescheduled for tomorrow after school.  If you have any questions, see Ms. Stine in room 310. 

**The deadline to order a yearbook is January 26.  Don’t miss out!!  Remind a parent to check eNEWS or Bryan’s webpage for a link to the Herff Jones Yearbook Order Center. 

**One last reminder to students who want to participate in the Science Fair on February 9, ask your science teacher for a copy of the How-To booklet and contact Mr. Spies in room 714 to let him know you will be participating. 

**8th graders interested in the summer high school credit advancement classes, registration is open now through May 1.  All the information is available in the Guidance Office.  

**Author Jonathan Stokes is coming to Bryan Middle School the morning of February 2 to speak to two classes of 6th grade ELA students. All Bryan Patriots have the opportunity to order books written by Mr. Stokes, including The Thrifty Guide to Ancient Rome ($11 hardcover), The Thrifty Guide to the American Revolution ($11 hardcover), Addison Cooke and the Treasure of the Incas ($7 paperback), and Addison Cooke and the Tomb of the Khan ($15 hardcover).  He will personally sign those books while here. Students who place orders will receive their books on February 2.  To place an order, clearly write the title of the book, the cost and your name and include payment of cash or check (exact amount made out to Main Street Books) in a sealed envelope. Take orders with payment to the Learning Commons by Friday, January 26.  Stop by the Learning Commons if you have questions.  
 
**The lunch menu for today is grilled cheese with tomato soup.  The breakfast menu for tomorrow is pancake wrap or egg and cheese biscuit.
