Dr. Suzanne Chester, Principal
I am both honored and thrilled to join the Bryan
Middle School family! I look forward to meeting this amazing community –
our students, families, educational leaders, staff and stakeholders - as we
begin the 2016-17 school year. As the principal of Bryan Middle School, I embrace
the opportunity to partner with you to provide our students with a rigorous,
engaging and memorable middle school experience.
I am proud to say that I
am a Francis Howell North graduate. My education coupled with my school experiences
inspired me to join the teaching profession. As I enter my eighteenth year in
education, I am fortunate to have had a variety of opportunities to prepare me
for this one of a kind platform in my professional career. The bulk of my
teaching experience was spent at the middle school level in physical education
and health. After eight years of teaching, my career path led me into
administration. I earned my master of arts degree in Education Administration at
Lindenwood University. I served as the associate principal at Hazelwood West
High School for seven years, and most recently, I served the last two years as
an assistant principal at Fort Zumwalt East High School. In 2012, I earned my
doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Maryville University and
completed certification with the National Institute for School Leadership in
hope you are as excited as I am to continue the legacy of success established
at Bryan Middle. I look forward to building strong relationships with parents,
students and community partners. I am committed to ensuring that every Bryan
Middle student receives the very best education possible, and that all students
and their families realize they are an important part of our success.

Dr. Angy Dickson, Assistant Principal
I am so pleased to be starting my 9th year at Bryan Middle. This school is a family of caring, unique, and wonderful individuals. I count myself lucky each day I can walk into this building to work with the students, staff and parents.
The two years prior to coming to Bryan I was an elementary and then middle school assistant principal in the City of St. Charles School District. Before becoming an assistant principal, I taught 6th grade students Geography, English/Language Arts and Reading for 10 years at Jefferson Middle School in the City of St. Charles School District. My first two years teaching were in elementary school. I love working with middle school students because they possess creative & sharp minds with a quick wit!
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Missouri – Columbia with an emphasis in Social Sciences and a minor in French. I then attended Lindenwood University where I earned a Master of Arts in Educational Administration. I completed my education at Maryville University where I earned my Doctorate Degree in Educational Administration. Continuing education is a constant endeavor for me. I believe learning is the greatest gift we can give ourselves.
Beyond degrees, I am also a graduate of The Leadership Academy for Character Education. I work with the staff and students at Bryan, in partnership with Mr. Gruener, to develop and monitor many aspects of character education in our school. I am also the PIT (Parent Involvement Team) leader and lead book studies and discussions with parents to gain ideas for implementation at Bryan. PIT meetings are very engaging and push me to constantly be forward-thinking in ways we can improve Bryan Middle School.
I strive daily to build positive relationships with students, parents and community members. I welcome any feedback you might offer. Please call or e-mail at any time with suggestions or concerns.

Mr. Jeff Gruener, Assistant Principal
I am very excited to be part of the Bryan Middle School Community. This is my fourth year at Bryan Middle, and I strongly believe that we are a great school!
I have been an Assistant Principal in Francis Howell for ten years, and prior to administration I taught Special Education in Middle School and Sixth Grade in an Elementary School. I taught in Special School District of St. Louis County and also for a district in Phoenix, Arizona.
On a personal note, I am the father of four kids, and all four attend Francis Howell Schools. It has been great to not only be an employee at Francis Howell, but to also be a community member. I strive to treat the students just as I would expect my own children to be treated.
Currently I am involved in the Leadership Academy for Character Education, and I strive to make Bryan Middle a caring, safe school. I want all students to feel connected to this school and to build positive relationships with the staff members. It is my belief that having positive connections to school is essential for a student to be successful.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. We want to foster positive relationships, and willing to work with families to help all students to be successful.
Mr. Jeff Gruener
